Nav. system repair

2007 EB with Nav/Sirius/6 disc CD player. Bought it used - It had the 4P Ford Nav. disc in it. It originally worked OK but then started to "act up" by saying "incompatible disc, etc." So - I bought the 8P version of the Ford Nav. disc. It seemed to load OK as the system recognized the 8P disc. It also worked for a little while with the 8P disc. Now, the darn thing will not function. Every time I hit the Nav. button, it displays the incompatible disc msg. I don't think I can do anything more with it. Anybody had any luck with a good/reasonable repair company. I see there are a few places out there to send it to. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

This is a common problem with the Nav units. I really wonder if they guy that sold it to you just ripped you off. You have to replace the drive mech. to fix it.

Bill: Thanks for the reply -- Just so there is no misunderstanding - I did not buy the Nav. unit separately - it was a factory unit that was in the truck..... I guess I'm surprised that you say it is such a common problem, as I have not seen many posts about it?

Yea there is a link on one of these threads where a guy will fix them for pretty cheap. you just have to pay shipping. I will see what I can dig up for you unless someone beats me to it.

Bill, I gotta Hijack this thread... did anybody find that link, so that I can find the guy who repairs the nav systems?
