I already have TT & shackle lift on my X, and I want at least 2 more inches. I have just a few questions...where do I buy a 2" body lift, how hard is it to install, and how much $$$does it cost?
Any help would be greatly appriciated.

a bl is semi easy to install they only cost like $100... it depends on your mechanical ability and your access to the tools to get it done..... there are a lot of steps to a bl though... you must extend linkages, etc.....

I'm pretty handy, and I have plenty of tools. I am just un-familiar with this and don't want to get in over my head. Is there anything special that I need as far as tools? I love to do my own work when it comes to anything, because any experience is good experience. I just want to make sure I'm not gonna f--k anything up too bad.

I am the same way, I like to do things myself. Just make sure you do your research before you start and try to make yourself as prepared as possible. I know there are tons of threads on this board about body lifts.

Well, I'm going to assume that the most important and hardest thing is going to be, How are you going to lift the body off of the frame?
You have three basic ways.

1. The easy yet long way.
Start with the exterior panels and take the whole body apart until you just lift the upper fram off the lower.
Then when you are finished put it all back together.

2. The faster yet more difficult, and dangerous if not done properly, way.
Support the whole body on a lift and jack it up.
Then just lower it down.

3. Take it to a shop.

Of course the best way would depend on the lifts/jacks available to you.
