Need a lil help to put a engine in my 98 xlt 4x4

im in the middle of droping in my new motor and im not sure if i have to pull the transmission out to align it with the block. i really dont wanna deal with that so if anyone knows a way how to align it in the car please let me know.

whcih engine? 98 model had 3 choices

Easiest way to stab an engine to a transmission with the transmission in the truck is to remove the motor plates off the side of the engine, so you can move the engine down lower then it normally sits and a bit side to side until it stabs.
Then bolt them together and then raise the engine back up and mount the motor plates, then bolt to the engine mounts = BLAMO
easy easy this way, have done it several times
