To piggy back on my other thread I decided to try & fix my lack of max AC problem. The actuator & vacuum are good. When I opened the airbox, to my surprise there is no door in there. I guess someone already threw it away after it fell down.
So, does anyone know the part number for this? Google doesn't yield much. At least with the number I can call junk yards up. I guess it's any 3rd gen & maybe the 4th?

Thanks

I don't know the part # but suspect that having it, won't help when contacting a junkyard, that you're just looking for whether they have any 3rd gen explorers on their lot to cannibalize one from, and then with a bit of luck, that nobody else has come and taken it already.

However you might check whether Dorman makes those. They might call it a repair kit or something, if they have it.

I did see this on Rock Auto but have no idea if it's what you need. This does list some part #s:

Got one from a u pull it. Unfortunately there is NO WAY to remove the door without breaking it. The 3 X's the yard had, amazingly they were all still intact. I wrestled with the HVAC box for a few hours. The entire unit has to come out as an assembly to get the door off. And the door has to be broken to get it back into the HVAC box :( So I will use some plastic bond to secure it back when I try to install it.

Oh yeah.....can't get it out unless you take the upper dash off. In any case I'm done with this. I'll leave it as is. Apparently I don't have the other end of the bracket that goes on the actuator(I left that at the junkyard) I'll just live with it. It's not a main vehicle anyway.
Another great 90's Ford piece of engineering. LOL ;)
