I need a new exhaust put on my truck because my stock exhaust is rusted out real bad and I got a hole in my muffler. So I went to my lil local muffler shop and he just told me it'd be $94.50 to replace it... replace it with what, I dunno, but that's what he said. I thought that was pretty cheap but I told him I'd think about it. But if I'm going to get a new system, I want it to sound kinda throaty and truckish if ya know what I'm talkin about. Not too loud but sounds good when ya get on it, heh. I think I remember that Ex in that "Explorer swimming" video sounding pretty good, that's what I'm going for... can anyone tell me if that's a good price and what kinda muffler I need to get a good sound like that?

You can get Flowmasters for around $90 depending on which one you get. I plan on getting the 50 series with duals when I get a job and make some money.

Can find them at Summitracing.com....they have the best prices that I've seen for Flowmaster so far

Well since you asked for advice, I will offer my 2 cents worth. Go to ExplorerExpress.com and be done with it. Look at all the stuff they have, get your best price and then call them and ask for John V. Tell him what exactly you want, like muffler or system and he will match or beat there price and it WILL fit. Have you thought about a flowmater?

Yeah, that's all I've really heard about is the flowmaster series for my truck, and from what everyone says they're really nice and sound good, I just didn't know what specific series to get and how much I should pay for them. I've love to get duels, but I can't really afford that. So what type should I get if I stay with single exhaust? And would he give me a flowmaster for $94.50 or under if I tell him my local shop prices (since that's his price: $94.50).

Most people have the 40 Series or the 50 series. The 40 Series is suppose to be louder and the 50 series is suppose to be more mellow. If you go to Flowmastermufflers.com you can look up each of the mufflers and see the size options. If you're going with a single, probably a 2.5" in/2.5" out would be the recommended size. I don't remember if yours has a center in/out or if it's offset....but if you look under your X you should be able to tell if it's offset or center and then find the matching muffler on the Flowmaster site, and then find somewhere else to buy it because they cost about $40 more off their site.

Another thing...after watching that video it looks like they may even have a Gibson catback system.
