Hello to all. First of all I have a '96 XLT with OEM am/fm/cassette; no amps or sub. I'd like to install a '98 or later OEM am/fm/single-cd head unit. I know the harness is different so some mods will be required there. Does the '98 & later units have an internal or external amp? If internal can this be wired directly to my existing speakers? Also, what's with this "security code" built into the unit...does it render the unit inoperable in other vehicles? Can it be by-passed? I'd like a simple installation and don't need a "window-busting" system, just something to listen to my cd's. I like the OEM look of my dash so that's why I want to stick to stock. Any expert advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.....
