- 2011and 2016 Explorer Bas
Guys,
I have a 2016 Explorer (I assume it's a base, it's 4WD and has the V6). This is a company car which was handed down to me, so I didn't see it when it was new. The guy who had it previously had the 3rd row seat removed. As far as I know all of the parts were kept together in our warehouse. I had our shop reinstall the rear seat mainly because I wanted a flat floor (when folded) in the back. I've seen lots of pictures showing the floor flat when the rear seat is folded. I'm just talking flat in the area behind the second row. However, when I fold the seat down, the front half of it (the half that folds toward the front of the car) has a significant downward slope. It folds flat, but then it keeps going which causes it to hump up at the hinge point in the middle and slope down in the front. It seems like there should be a stop or support there somewhere to keep the seat flat. It's entirely possible I am missing a part(s). I do notice as the seat is being folded that there are four studs sticking up off the floor with nothing attached to them. Those studs have nuts on them, but nothing else. I have a hard time believing that Ford put nuts on those studs and nothing was supposed to be mounted there? I have not been able find any pictures or anything in parts diagrams. I was hoping someone here would have an idea of how that rear seat works.
Thanks in advance for the help.
