Need Bodylift install/uninstall Help!!!

O.K. you guys it's time to get this bodylift off and now I'm at the point of needing to lift the body up itself. What I need to know is what point of the body do I lift at? Is it safe to do this with just the use of one long frame jack? So far I've done all of the work all by myself. Also do I do it left to right or front to back or vice versa? Any advice please.

If you read up on the body lift install, just reverse that but I believe you do one side and the other-left then right or the other way around. From reading the tech section it sounds like you should be fine to it by yourself and using one frame jack.

Well I'm really a street guy, as I tryed the offroad thing a few times with the guys here and found thats its just not me. Right now it just sits too high in my opinion and it has a wondering sensation going since I also have a suspension lift on it as well and if it looks funny I can up it from 4"lift to 6" lift later on. The main reason for removing it is because the body is three inches higher than it suppose to be its like precisely in the way of my supercharger out tube. I won't dyno tune my truck without the supercharger working at full potential.

So can you tell me what area or exact point of the body I should lift from?

Sell it? I guess, make an offer. Note that you will need new bolts but the steering extention and bumper and radiator drop brackets will be included. Possibly the shifter extension too (I have a 5-speed manual).

So did you all use a piece of wood to not make a pressure point with the body?

Thats what I did with my ranger. However a ranger cab is not as heavy as an explorer.

I would reccomend the use of a 4"x4" chunk of lumber and just take a look under the cab to see where you can get a good width of it under there.

I should add that I've never done it so anything I say is purely speculative....

it is best to go side to side and a well placed jack and 2*4 will do just fine
how wuch for it once it is off???????

O.K. guys I got the bodykit all off. This includes 10 lift pucks, front and rear relocation brackets, steering column extention, radiator drop brackets, and a few body bolts-it is reccomended to reuse your original nuts because as you will see most are stationary. I can't tell you the age cause the bodylift was on the explorer when I first bought it which was over 6 years ago now. Also I said most bolts because I did have a couple break on me, but a place like Fastenal can give you a whole new set of bolts for $10-$15 at the most at Grade 8 steel. And with including the older bolts you can easily match the lengh and threads that will be needed. I'm only asking $75 shipped. OBO!
