I am having a set of coil spring spacers milled and need dimensions as soon as possible. center hole diamter, overall diameter are what I really need. Also, if using a 'flat' spacer can I put the factory washer with the raised center on top, could it cause any problems if I only have a 2" tall spacer with a flat top?

ALL help is appreciated!

Jack

The OD of the spacer should be 3". Hole down the middle should be 11/16".

Keep in mind that you'll either need a 5/8" stud extender or a shorter spacer if you plan on reusing most of the stock hardware. Also, you'll need a larger recess (about 1 3/8" diameter) on the bottom of the spacer if you want it to fit over the nut at the base of the stud rather than sitting on top of it.

The stock coil seat with the raised center is there to keep the coil spring isolator and the spring itself from sliding around. If you just throw a 2" hunk of aluminum in there with a flat top and then set the isolator on it, you may end up with the spring sliding around.

I have a pretty thorough "diary" from when I did something similar. Rather than having a solid piece made, I welded some 1 1/4" USS washer and 5/8" dock washers together. The spacer itself ended up being exactly 1.5" tall and I did have to come up with a few fixes in the process.

That thread is here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=290039

If the spacer is one solid piece of metal, the entire center hole can be 1-3/8", it'll stay centered over the hex nut itself (might make for a couple less steps while milling).

Yes, the steel domed spring perch will be needed on top.

Also stud extenders are required above about 1.25" or so. Less than that you should be able to get the nut back onto the OE stud.

thanks guys for all the info! that build thread helped alot. a 1.25" spacer will help alleviate my sagging problem from all the weight on the bumper w/out having to buy taller springs. once again, much appreciated!

spacers are in.. and ive got a problem. the springs are not sitting straight. the pass side is bowed forward and the drivers is facing back a little. when we had the truck on the lift and i installed the spacers i pulled or pushed the springs so that the retaining washer was in the center, is this where i goofed up?
