Is your gf gonna be mad that your ripping hers off lol?? I have no idea what it's worth. And I'm not sure if the JBL one will work since the part number is different. I know if you probably have the jbl sound system chances are you have the factory sub that comes along with it and also has its own amp.

The JBL RCU will NOT work in your XLT

The JBL Rear Control Unit (RCU) in the 1995-1997 Explorers is a tuner/amp assembly (base part number 18C851), rather than just an amplifier. It is NOT compatible with the Premium Sound radio (base part number 19B165).

Problem solved folks i just bypassed the amp and removed it and it solved all my problems. Thanks for responding though!
