Need help deciding to Super charge

I've got a 4.0L OHV with 134k on it, would that be able to handle a s/c at those miles? I know the OHVs are workhorses too, but I was still wondering.

Also, it's said that an s/c is the easiest and most cost-effective way to get the power you want. But, if a Vortech s/c is going to cost me about $3500, what makes the s/c better as opposed to spending around $1200 on all the bolt-ons, chip, and cam upgrade (even though I wont get quite as much power :(, but still over 200)?? 1200 vs. 3500...my X right now is worth $3500  . I figured I could just sell all my mods and just bite the bullet and get the Vortech + exhaust (I'm getting real tired of my Cherry Bomb)...would that be worth it? Or just stay with the bolt-ons since I've already started on them...I also dont know how much longer I will have the X...

You've opened that can of worms. Bit by the mod bug, huh. Don't sell the bolt on's, you'll need 'em for the S/C. Anyway you go about it your gonna need a chip. How fast do you want to go? I have put on every bolt on I could find, then it was time for the S/C. Now it's time for stage 3 heads and CAM. Building these motors isn't cheap. If I were you I'd hold off, wait for a newer X to come into your life and go to town with that. EE, Apten, 4.0 performance, are all working together on some great stuff for the SOHC. You'll get a lot more bang for your buck with a S/C'd SOHC. Pretty much everything for the OHV comes with a hefty price tag, and the gains are limited to many factors that aren't as apparent in the SOHC.
PM me if you have any ?'s on the Vortech or building up the OHV and what is involved. I have a post here about my Vortech install. I am still in tuning stages. Yes still. Hopefully that will be taken care of this month.
