'98 Eddie Bauer
Hey all. I've been only an observer before and i love to read the threads, today however i am in a bit of a problem.

I own a 98 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer. ITs has 150000 Kms on it. I dont have any money at all to fix it. Heres the situation.

A week ago my brother borrowed it and noticed that the car was a bit noiser when accelerating. He is used to driving a quiet camry so i told it has always been noisy. Then Two days ago i started the car and noticed the noise myself. It had gotten louder. Especially when the car starts like KRRR KRRRR KRRR KRRR The noise is originating not from the hood of the car, but rather the middle. Thats why my coworker suggested it might be the exhaust.

I have two problems. First currently i am flat broke. I had to recently quit my job in order to help take care of my father, and two with the rising price of Gas i am out of any money that i had.

This noise is louder when i accelerate, dissapears when i brake, its like if something was in a pipe. Its coming from the middle side of the passenger side. Below the car, but not from under the hood. Can any tell me how much i am looking at. and how long i can delay fixing it,

P.S. I am due for an oil change. I am planning to go next saturday. I have had the car for 15,000 Kms but have had no tune ups, nothing other then an oil change cause well like i said i am poor right now

I would appreciate even the slightest answer.
