'98 XLT
I have a '98 XLT. Recently there has been a problem with it in park. When my girlfriend puts it in park, I have the problems as well but a lot less frequent than she does, it doesn't park. If parking on even the slightest incline it begins to roll. You can hear a clunking like the brake is trying to catch but it won't park.
The ABS light is on which I believe is due to the front wheel bearing needing to be replaced. My girlfriend doesn't want to start spending money on fixing that and what ever else if we can't find out what is causing the problem easily and I don't want to lose the X if she gets rid of it if I can't find the problem.
Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Andrew

Start paying the bills. She will grow thick on you soon.

I do pay the bills but too many speeding tickets=no license so she has to drive. And she has to drive I don't get the say. Happy wife, happy life they say.

shift cable might be out of adjustment.
