i've been looking around for a flowmaster catback exhaust system for my 91 explorer. the only problem is that is can't find one with dual exhaust, or i can't find one with the loudest 40 series muffler. If anyone out there knows the name of a company and/or web address, it would help a lot. Thanks for any help i can get

I had the same problem with my 91. I called Flowmaster and they said that they don't make a dual outlet system for the explorers. What they suggested and I will be doing soon is to buy a 40 series or a new muffler that is coming out right now called a SUV performance muffler or something like that. And have a shop bend me up custom 2 1/4" outlet pipes. Good Luck and keep us posted as to how it goes.

that's what i was thinkin about because my friend jsut got a flowmaster 40 series, 3 inch in, and 2 pipes@2.5 on the way out. he had the guy bend him two 2.25 coming out the back with three inch tips. anyway, all this cost him 330 dollars. i realize it isn't going to be cheap to get an exhaust system, but that's why i was looking for a catback system. i just don't have that lying around right now. thanks for the help though

i ran single 2.25 in and out on 2 chamber 40 series flowmaster. I would stick to single pipe. You dont want to lose to much backpressure. If any i would go with single 2.5 out. Also with dual your going to run into trouble with your spare tire. If you remove it running dual is not a problem. If you run dual i would go with 2 inch out to make sure you have the backpressure.
