Need help finding pvc valve

Can anyone help me find pvc valve on my 2004 x 4.6 V8. That is part of my list to cet better milage. I have a very poor milage in city driving but good at the high way. I finnish to change spark plug and fuel filter I have not driven it since so I don´t know if it change anything. The plan is to chance pvc valve, clean the throttle boddy and the MAF sensor and see how the car respond to that.

should be in one of the valve covers.
think pass side valve cover. might be blue and heated also.

ok thanks but what do you mean with blue and heated??

blue in color and some have others dont an electrical connector. some have heaters in them.

might be gray/black or blue.

with or with out a connector. never bothered to why some are heated others are not.

Can anybody explain the heated PCV valves? I saw the 2 at rockauto and I'm trying to find out which one to buy. I figured the heated might have had to do with an engine block heater option but wasn't sure.

heated pcv has a electrical connector on it. i think its only on cars sold in cold weather climate, i'm not 100% sure which cars carry the heated or non heated. but why spend 30-50 bux more for a heated pcv when the car lacks the connector for it.

if your pcv is heated it will have an electrical connector to it.
if it lacks the connector its a regular pcv.

I agree that the $20 extra expense is what I'm trying to avoid should it be unnecessary but I'm asking if anybody here knows for sure the actual reason for the heated vs. non-heated.

I'm sure most are aware of the difference re: the electrical connector but as my vehicle is some 300 miles from me this month, I thought I'd ask. Especially since auto manufactures don't always make production changes that have anything to do with common sense. This could simply be a cold weather item or it could be based on a production change due to redesign and would then be affected by VIN or build date.
