Ok well to start off my Flex-a-lite fan got caught up into the radiator and it tore the fan and radiator up. i have a new radiator ordered, but i need yalls advice. Shold i get a new flex a lite fan or get a stock one and put back in there? Im thinking that maybe the body flexed or something because i dont have a broken motor mount.

If i run the flex a lite fan again ill get a new spacer. right now there is a 2" spacer and it was awful close to the radiator, so im thinking maybe a 1 1/2 inch or inch spacer instaed of 2".

I hope i can get a fast answer as too i need to get the new fan ASAP.

PEACE

Hey, what's up kid. Since you already tried the 2" spacer, you can't use the same set up again as you already know. I would suggest the 1" spacer just to be on the safe side.

Otherwise, how's the flex lite working for you? Does it blow enough air? Temp gauge not going up more than normal?

Well, good luck, kid.

Yes the flex fan blows enuff air..... i dont know wut caused it to get caught in the radiator and prolly never will

but still its a good fan

heres the pics as promised

go electric with adjustable thermo a little more expensive but worth it

I cant afford electric right now

a new flex is only gunna cost me bout 50 $ and i priced electric for arond 200

It looks awefully close to the radiator there. Definitely just use 1" spacer.

I posted this in an earlier thread but will give you brief encounter I had with "Flex-Fans". I had one on my 1969 Mach 1 Mustang and it worked real good. After a while the metal blades started to fatigue from the constant flexing. Eventually one blade broke off when I was on the freeway (about 60mph). It flew upwards and missed my A/C freon line and upper radiator hose but sliced right through my hood. Think about it; what if it happened when I was running the motor with the hood open and people around? They're dangerous and I would strongly recommend the stock clutch fan setup of go electric. Just my 2-cents......

My only bad experience with Flex fan is that they do not move enough air. Since you said you do not have that problem then you just gotta worry about what Kamaaina said. I think that alone is worth switching back to clutch fan or move up to an electric ones.
