Ok guys. I have a 92 Xlt 4x4 the only thing under the hood thats new is spark plugs and wires. ran fine when i bought it about a year ago. some thing went bad but its old. heres my problem. i went out to my truck after work and i put the key in the ignition. it like dinged like it does when the key is in but only did like half a ding. then nothing worked. no power locks, wouldnt start or anything. my dad came and jumped me off and we got it running. on the way back to my apt, it died at a light. it has been running ****ty at idle lately. maybe idle air control. but why would nothing in the car work if it was only that. also i took the battery which is a year old back to walmart tested fine brought alternator in bench tested fine also. any ideas. i have been without for like 4 weeks. i drive my motorcycle everyday and i have just been luck it hasnt been raining please help. also another thing when it was running and i let off the gas i hear some sort of whining/sucking noise from back maybe axle or fuel pump?????? please help

Replace your battery cables also check the fuel pressure.

pour coke on the battery terminals

wait 5 minutes

crank 'er up.

Once you get time, clean those battery terminals, or do what Blee said and replace them. Only problem with replacing them is finding a quality part. You wont be able to find anything worth your time unless you hunt around and bascially make the battery terminals yourself. Dont settle for those cheap 'bolt on replacement' terminals at Autozone, or Advanced... it will only cause the same problem in a matter of weeks.

I know they have a warranty, but part of your problem could be the Wal-Mart "EverStart" battery. It's more like, "NeverStart" in my and others' opinions. Do what's been said already, and maybe even check your ignition swithc if those don't work.
