- Explorer 2002 XLT
Hi all,
Today I noticed my brake lights are on and won't go off. I have a 2002 Explorer XLT. My brother and I removed the fuse that controls the break pedal position (I think that's what it's called), fuse #23. That shut the brake lights off. So apparently it's not a fuse problem. My guess is that it's something electrical? Some kind of computer-system error?
I've removed the fuse in the meantime while the car is parked so the brake lights won't drain the battery, and then I'll pop it back in when I have to drive again. I live in a small town and won't be able to go to the city to have it looked at/serviced for a couple weeks.....I thought I'd check here first and see if anyone has an idea of what the problem might be, and if it could possibly be something that I could fix myself.
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!
