Hello everyone I have a carvox 2way alarm/ remote starter. And not really sure how to install it. Figured if id get help this is the place to get it. I'm not sure were the. Wires I need are located and what exactly to do I wanna get detailed pictures and directions if possible so I don't end up messing up my car. I have a 1995 ford explorer. I think factory alarm altho when I bought it it didn't come with a remote for the alarm but when I lock the doors the protection light comes on and I have set it off. A few times on accident. I need to know if I need any relays and if so what kind I have power windows but the back hatch I want to be opened remotely as well. The alarm has a microwave sensor as well. I have put over 2 grand into the sound and 3 tvs so gotta protect my investment. And 2 other cars have already been broken to including my roomates so I wanna get this installed asap. I can be reached by email at keithharison@gmail.com. ill check the board as well. Or even any advice would be good.

a friend of mine used to do tons of car starters, and alarms. his advice was, back then and even now (and he no longer dose them for a living) was to take it to the place you got it from. it is more involved supposedly then just adding a few relays, and crimping a few wires.

Not to be a smart ass, but did you read the instructions at all? Most of the wires, if not all, are going to be at the drivers side kick panel.
If the instruction dont get you any where, take it to a shop. Installing an alarm is a big jobs that requires you to tap into wires in very tight spaces. If the instructions arent any help to you, you are going to need to take it to a shop, preferably the one you got the alarm at.
I dont think there are going to be detailed, step by step instructions on how to install a car alarm on many sites.
Good luck

check out techservices.audiovox.com for all the wire colors and www.the12volt.com for answers to many other questions. you need to read up a lot about your alarm before you do anything. does it output for positive or negative locks? how many ignition wires does it have? does your car have an immobilizer system?
