Need Help! New Woofer not working correctly.

I've just installed an audiobahn Aw1208T and a Hifonics Brutus 1500D. This, of course, should be very loud, however its significantly quieter than my previous setup, which was of a much lower wattage. Voltage is at 14.0, gain is set properly, bass boost is set properly, and all settings seem to be correct. Could a bad ground possibly be a problem? If not, please let me know of your ideas, as I'm desperate, and can find nothing wrong.

did you adjust the LPF on the amp? maybe it has to be set higher.

Check the bass control on your HU, it could be set wrong
Could you have wired the sub wrong and done series when you meant parallel.

I'm fairly certain that I wired it in parallel, the manual said it could possibly be a ground cable issue, do you think this is a possibility?

It could be a ground issue, does it go to bare metal and firmly attached.

Actually, I just tested it out again, and it seems to be working much better, maybe it just needs to be broken in? Either way, its greatly improved. Thanks for the help, hopefully itll stay this way.

What gauge power and ground do you have running to the amp? You should have at least 4 ga. just to that amp alone.

The power is 4 gauge, but the ground is 8 gauge. Yesterday I order 0 gauge ground cable, a distribution block, additional 4 gauge cable, and everything I need to use that to reground the entire system. I'm going to buy a 0 gauge power cable next and do that part of the system as well. I think that's probably part of the problem.
