Hi Guys
I had to replace the pinion bearings couple months ago I the rear end. I drove the explorer home and the odometer stopped working. The next day the odometer started working again. About a month ago I went on a trip and when I hit 50 to 55 mph the speedometer needle started to bounce around and it felt like it was cutting out. The cruise did not work before the pinion bearing was replaced. I got the cruise to work it was the recall fuse wiring it had a blown fuse. I replaced the whole wiring. What could it be that causes the speedometer needle to bounce around? Need help.

Thank you

It may be a bad VSS (vehicle speed sensor) I know on the later models this sensor is located in the rear difference housing, but I'm not sure where it is on the '95. It may be on the trans (or even the xfer case if 4WD). Fairly inexpensive part and easy to change once you find it.

Hi

Mine has the speed sensor on the transmission and the rear axle. Should I replace both sensors?

Thank you
