Need help please

Hello everyone I'm. New to this forum but I could definitely use some help. I have an 08 sport trac and it has a starting issue. Some days it works great but lately if I drive somewhere and let it sit for a little or even over night I go to start it and it will crank but not start, no fuel and they key acts as if its a Chevy and if you tap it on the car will crank on its own for a couple seconds which my truck is not usually equipped with. If I un hook the battery for minimum of an hour it will start up and run no problems but as soon as it sits for a while it happens again. I've been racking my brain thinking what it could be but can't figure it out. If anyone has any advice to give on this i would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!

I'd start with replacing the key switch. There's a few threads around here about it.

The electrical portion? Or the whole ignition switch?

Thank you for the help, it's hard to find anyone who has the same problem I'm hav8ng, everyone is having dome light and dash light issues but mine it a crank no start issue I don't know if it is the same thing or not. It probably couldn't hurt to get a new ignition piece seeing that they go bad a lot it seems.
