I'm about to install a pair of three way pioneer speakers in my 1994 explorer later this week. How do you get to the old speaker to remove them? What tools do you need to pop of the paneling without breaking it?

A simple panel removal tool will work. You can get them at most any AutoZone/Pep Boys/Napa...

I just use a flat head screwdriver carefully.. Haven't broken anything yet, but you're probably safer using the special tool..

yeah and make sure the door lock is in the "locked" position, and remove the black piece around the door handle before messin with the panel itself. it just snaps out with a little coaxing. and once the door panel is off look at the little pieces that attach it to the door and replace the ones that are "stripped out"

Hmm, I don't lock mine, but I guess it'd make it easier.. Oh yeah, if you didn't think about it, take out the screws by the handle (just above the plastic thing you take out as mentioned above), and the one at the front of the panel.. You probably knew this, just saying it out loud
