There's already going to be the hole where the wires from the power distribution box, come in to the interior fuse box. Whether there's clearance in there for 1 ga. wire, I don't know. Otherwise I'd just put a new hole near the other hole, driver's side and exiting behind the dash.
If you do drill a hole, I'd put a rubber grommet in it. Measure wire OD, get a grommet with ID slightly smaller, put grommet on wire before putting into new hole in firewall. A little silicone grease on the wire will help move it through the grommet to take up slack while routing it. Sensor safe black RTV will help seal the grommet against the firewall sheet metal. It might be easier to pack some of the RTV sealant into the grommet's outer channel before installing it in the firewall hole.
For the rest of the run to the rear, I'd see if there's clearance in the trim covers over the rocker panels to run the wire. If not, I'd consider a little higher gauge wire and a stiffening capacitor next to the amp.
