02 AWD Mountaineer, Ok, so changed out the transfercase because all 4 tires were fighting with each other. Also, binding up and making a popping noise in the front. So I took out the front driveshaft which made the binding stop but still has a slight possi affect in the rear. SO I put a "new" transfer case in it. But before i could put in the front driveshaft it won't stay in park. On a hill it will have a slow slow roll to it Starts fine, shifts all gears, go's right into park. Messed with the linkage but it is fine. Is the transfercase i bought a bad one? What keeps this suv in park?? It was fine without the front driveshaft in it before, never rolled. My transmission was rebuilt and fine before i did the transfer swap. Any help would be HUGE! My mechanic is even a little stumped. I did read about a clutch pack for the rear? But one thing at a time
