The back passenger door wont open from inside. The handle pulls out but wont open. Is there anything I can do, other than buying a new door handle? The door handle acts as if it is sprung. Thank you for your help.

I'm unsure what you mean by sprung. My first thought is have you looked to see if the child safety locks have been engaged (these are located on the door near to the latch).

No the Child safety locks are not on, when you pull the handle the handle pulls all the way out but nothing happens. There is no jaw movement at all. It even pulls out farther than any other door larch in the SUV.

Since the locks are not engaged the next step is to take the door panel off and see if the rod connecting the handle to the latch is still connected. Unsure as to what would have caused it to come off but its possible.

It's still connected, that's why I think the handle is broken.

Ah okay. The next option seem like finding a junkyard or craigslist with a 2000 and buy the handle. According to the junk yard near me you can pick one up for $9.07 plus tax. Since it seem like you know what your doing, so I wont try and describe how to remove the handle. Just post if you need more help or if the new to you handle doesn't work either.

Welcome to the forum. Best of luck on the handles.
