Need help on Explorer A/C and power steering. We have put a 2000 5.0L Explorer engine in a Ford Ranger. We have the swap in place but want to eliminate the A/C compressor and Power steering pump. Does anyone know of a way to route the accessory belt to run the water pump and alternator? Is there an A/C eliminator bracket for the Explorer accessory package? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn’t anyone have a 97-01 5.0 Explorer without A/C? I need help folks.

i think most people that have a 2000 5.0L v8 are not from engine swaps, but from factory. and im assuming all x's came with ac. but i could be wrong.. good luck

I am not looking for someone that put (swapped) a 5.0 into a 2000 Explorer. I need to know if someone with a factory 5.0 has gotten rid of the air conditioning compressor and if so did they used an A/C eliminator bracket or what they did use. I am hoping I don't have to fabricate a bracket or pulley set.

I eliminated the A/C compressor with my '93 Cougar 5.0L engine swap. I just wrapped a piece of string around all of the pulleys, measured it and ordered the correct one from the parts store. The compressor is in the same place as the Explorer accessories so this will work for you too.

As for the P/S I can only suggest a dummy pulley in this location. Otherwise you will not have enough belt area on the waterpump for proper contact and the belt will slip.
