Afternoon fellow explorers,
My friend just bought a 2002 Ford Explorer, V6 4.0.
Her driver's seat does not move. We do hear it click when we try to lift the lever (We think the lever is what moves it forward) so the sound we are hoping, is telling us it is not the motor, but a fuse. We found the fuse box in front engine compartment, driver's side.
But I have a cadillac, and it has 3 fuse box sections, in different locales. Where woud the fuse for the driver's seat be? What size fuse?
Are there more than one fuse boxes in the 2002 explorer?
Is there a manual way to rock the driver seat forward? She's very short and needs this moved up, her feet don't come close to the pedals as is.
If it's a motor, is it hard to change yourself? She also has limited budget.
Any other suggestions from you guys would be appreciated. These are just a few of the possibilities of what may be wrong?

my 03 EB seat worked but stopped working after a few years. it was the control box under the seat. I replaced with a unit from an 02 bought at LKQ for $100
it only took 1/2 hour to replace.

yup sounds like the control box. same thing happened to mine. As for rocking the seat forward im not sure of a way you can do it without damaging it.

There is a power distribtion panel under the hood and you can't miss it. There is also a fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side near the parking brake. The owners manual has the layout to identify the fuse functions. Check the fuses before proceeding.

Next, check the connector under the seat. Look for any abrasions on the wire harness.
