I purchased my '05 Sport Trac in January and I am finding a few things that it definitely needs. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=420099

Tires, sway bar end links and sway bar bushings, new cruise control switch, and space for a spare are among the things I'm looking at.

Questions #1 : Can I use the tires from a '04 Sport Trac (including rims) on my '05? It looks like they are the same size and would be cheaper. Is there any reason not to? - Also, how much would you pay for the tow bars since my currently doesn't have any?

Question #2 : This Trac came with dual exhaust and it has no space for a spare. Did any Tracs come with factory dual exhaust? I think I would rather have this room for a spare unless it is something that does more for fuel economy. How hard would it be to get rid of the extra exhaust? (can post pics later for more help)

Question #3 : Is a 1 ton jack good enough to raise the front of my Trac off the ground enough to change the sway bar bushings and end links quickly?

By the way, I love looking at this site. Wish I had enough money to put a lot of cool modifications into my truck. So far only the radio. Going to do fuel filter with my bushings and such.

So to answer your questions...

1. Yes stock wheels and tires from a 2001-2005 Sport Trac will fit your ST.

2. ST's came with single 2.25" single passenger side exit behind the rear tire exhaust. Your's has a custom built dual system or a HeartThrob dual exhaust system (only company out there that makes and sells a dual setup for ST's). If you wanna fit the spare back under the bed see what the guy with the white ST wants for his?

3. A 1 ton jack isn't ideal for lifting these trucks, I would use a 2.5 ton jack. With that said you don't need or want to jack up the frontend to swap out sway bar endlinks and sway bar bushings, you can do it with the truck on the ground or drive it up onto a set of car ramps would be best.

Great pieces of advice! You might as well just give me your phone number so I can ask questions anytime :p Is there any reason you wouldn't buy nearly new tires?

I buy/ use and sell used tires all the time from CL. Just check the date code on the sidewall, it'll be stamped into the tire. Also check for dry rot, cracking and any bubbles that would indicate broken belts in the tire. Just because a tire looks new and the seller says they are doesn't mean they are.
