Hey everyone.
I've been looking throught the archives for some information on a no start problem I'm having, and did'nt come up with what I was hoping.

I was driving my 92 home the other day and out of no where, it just died. I coasted off the road, cursing the wife for running it out of fuel but that proved not to be tha case. After towing it home, I pulled the coil pack off and took it to autozone to get checked. They said it was bad, gave me a replacement and still no start. I took the new one off, measured all of the resistance values against the old one and they were the same. I took it back, they gave me a controller for 150 bucks and still no start. I noticed the tach not moving while I cranked the motor so I grabbed a Crank Position Sensor when I took back the controller and still no start.

I'm pretty sure fuel is out of the question, I tried starting fluid after swapping each part just to be sure and it did'nt even try to run. Verified no spark after each piece also by pulling a plug and cranking.
No spark at all.

I'm at a loss on it at this point, and am about ready to make another trip to tha parts store for a FOR SALE sign.

Any help is apprciated for the Newbie... Thanks.

is it cranking over at all? hows the condition of the battery? how do you know it isnt the fuel system? like maybe a fuse or relay or the pump itself? dirty filter?

Welcome to the best site ever.

Was the cut out almost instant? If so that points to an electrical problem. Do you get juice to the coil pack? Check all the fuses. Any CEL light codes that can be read? Try unplugging and replugging the computer for a bad connection. Check things like the earth strap to the engine, battery connections, solenoids etc. Can you hear the fuel pump ticking?
