Hello all....I have a '92 4.0L sport. Just recently I replaced both heads on the engine, due to blown head gasket(s) and cracked heads. Got everything back together, put in new fluids, new t-stat, plugs and plug wires. When it started it has a miss. Didn't have the miss before. Doesn't leak anywhere. Coil pack is about 6 month's old. At idle, the miss is hardly noticable, put a load on the engine and it feels like it's going to fall apart. I'm at the point to where I want to beat the thing with the sledge...
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jim

did you get all the plug wires back in the order they go?

Yes I did..3 times just to make sure I wasn't overlooking the obvious.
I'm curious about the o2 sensor..if it gets wet from the coolant in the exhaust when head gasket let go, will it die and not throw a code to computer??

Thanks....Jim

o2 sensor

The o2 sensor is a solid-state electronic deveice which shouldn't be harmed by moisture, supposedly the only thing that can harm solid-state electronics is excessive heat, but anything is possible

O2 sensor

This sensor can be contamiated (sp) by oil, coolant, and carbon. If it is soiled the engine goes into limp mode and runs VERY rich. after a cracked head of head gasket lets go it would be a good idea to replace the o2

Or exposure to a nuclear detonation... :)

Did you hook up a scanner and see the readings of the sensor(s)?

Good luck with your problem.
