I need about 10 more hp and 15 more lb ft of torque for trailer towing between 2000 and 3000 rpm also I have 3.73 gears and front drive shaft removed. thanks Help (ps I get now 14 to 15 mpg pulling in overdrive a 25 ft aerolite at 65 to 70 mph) but need help with the air on and head winds etc thanks. also an additional large trans cooler and soon an engine oil cooler and I run mobile 1

look into bamachips and henson...if you go to the forums page on the bottom i believe is all the site vendors...as for the trans and oil coolers for pulling a trailer, that should be a first thing you do when you know you are going to be pulling a trailer full time...you might also look into getting a shift kit for your tranny for the towing...i take it you have an auto tranny???:D

All that $$ you spend on those things can be spent on regearing the axle. This would put less stress on everything upstread of the pinion gear including the transmission. 4.10's would be perfect probably.

Consider going with a e fan ( http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=140251&highlight=electric+fan ) as well as underdrive pulleys ( http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1377150#post1377150 and http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1394998#post1394998 ). A SCT XCal2 programmer is definately the way to go.

As for the throttle body, take a look at http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139454&highlight=mustang as well as http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172480

Good luck ....

and as izwack is always covering my rear, lol, yes, 4.10's would be great...but the coolers are needed too, in my humble and yet forgetful, opinion...:D

I think you are just about perfect with the 3.73 gears.

Thanks to all who replied, I'm in process of installing the mustang throttle body and an improved intake pipe, then an electric fan and finally a bama chip. thanks for your help!!!!!
