Hello All,

Long story short I've been chasing a vacuum leak for a while where I would hear the occasional hissing under the hood once the engine is warm. As title says I need a new Intake Manifold. 06 Mounty v8 212k. The leak appears to be the runner control valve rods that go into the back of the intake. I did my gaskets 3 months ago and didnt pay too much attention to it as I was rushed for time, but unless there is a way to replace the seals for them I would need to replace the manifold. Mileage has tanked again was 20mpg hwy 15 city to now 10 city and who knows hwy. I do drive heavy but even when I'm gentle the tank only last around 230 miles max. Issue being I cannot locate any new manifolds for the vehicle. Plenty of mustang ones available but none for the Explorer/Mounty. Any help would be appreciated

What p/n do you need?

okay! Lets keep looking. As @Bazz270 said do you have a part number?

One option is to install charge motion delete plates. They eliminate the rods and therefore any associated vacuum leaks. The downside is they require a custom tune to make the engine run properly. Not a convenient or inexpensive fix but if there are no other options then it might be worth considering.

Charge Motion Delete Plates

EDIT: This video shows how to confirm the vacuum leak is at the runners.

Sorry late reply. Work a lot too. Part number is 6L2Z9424FA Been able to see it online just everyone is discontinued. I would love to avoid spending 700 dollars on one with the stealership

Yep sprayed cleaner all over to find this very noticeable hissing and I found it all my own with it. Sadly I did the gaskets for the intake in August and totally ignored doing a leak test on it when cleaning it. Totally ignorant of it on my end. Last resort is some good ole goop to fill it but being that it pivots will only deteriorate again

Would F150 manifolds work?

Will 7L2Z-9424-A fit?

Iam pretty sure thats the V8 manifold of 2007-2008 explorers.verify your concern
