I am looking for new tires for my 2000 explorer XLT. I have been looking at General Grabber AT2 30x9.5x15 tires and wanted some help. I only have about $500 to spend on tires and wanted to know if my money is being spent wisely if I get these tires.

If not please advise.

Thanks alot!

i bought these tires too. i got them from tire rack. they rated very high and i got them for about 450 shipped to my door, money well spent imho. these tires look great. i havent put them on yet but ive had similar tires and they rock in the snow. good luck!

Thanks, that's alot of help. What kind of explorer are you putting them on?

98 sport ;). first i gotta realign the rear springs as the right side somehow slipped a little from the axle causing the u bolt to lossen which is causing my current tires to be eaten alive .

I wanted to pick up the General AT2's but none of the shops in my area could get them, as they were all backordered at the time. I ended up going with a set of 31" BFGs. That I am liking more and more everyday..

Yeah, those tires are in low quantities. So do the 31" tires fit very well? or am I better off with the 30" tires, because I have no lift at all and wouldn't like the tires to rub. So what should I go with. The 30's or the 31's?

They fit fine, and do not rub at all, atleast from what I can tell. I would do the 31's IMHO.

a set of 31 inch bfg all terrains will put a smile on your face. guaranteed.

I think I'll go with the 31's then. Maybe there is something else you can tell me though. I'm looking to get a large bar grill guard for the front of my explorer and some rack lights for the top, but havn't found any good web sites to find customizable parts to that extent. Do any of you know some good sites with good deals?

i had 31" yokohama ATs and they rubbed slightly when turned all the way. other than that no problems.
