Ok, I am sorta down to the Mickey Thompson Baja STZ in stock size and or Michelin Premium LTX.

We do go to Pismo beach and camp on the beach and run around on that sand. Don't really do any mudding but do go up to the snow from time to time. My Aviator is one of the 2WD models.

Anybody have any experiences with these? or have any opinions on these?

I'm going to go ahead and be that guy. Don't go anywhere 4wd could be needed.

I used to with my S-15 until I got stuck in loose gravel on an old river bed in California. I was driving along fine, keeping up speed and I just sank, like quick sand. Luckily a farm was near by and I was able to get pulled out with a tractor.

In reality, no tires or chains will help you. Otherwise put something luggy on the backs. Like the BFG Mud Terrain T/A KM's.

Neither of the tires you mentioned will help you in an "oh crap" moment. BFG used to make a real luggy tire, I didn't see them. I sure wouldn't run them as a DD.
