I have a 96 OHV v6 4.0. The gasket that is inbetween the EGR tube which goes into the left bottom side of the plastic intake manifold plenum is completely warped and causes a vacuum leak. I orange rtv'd it but i want to order a new gasket because I want it to be fixed properly. I've already picked up the other gasket kits and i don't want to do the job until i have everything i need.

I want to order it from the stealership but they dont know what i'm talking about.

I say cut out your own. You can find good gasket material at napa.

Bottom right. it's a weird shaped gasket/o ring. I don't think i want to make it myself.

Can you take, email or fax a pic to the parts departmant at the dealership? They probably call it something funny and can't get it to pull up on a search.

I'll drive there tomorrow and have one of them come out to my truck. i'll post the results here.

hmmm

What is this supposed to be called? EGR bypass? egr exhaust? I went to autozone and it was dead there. the guy was real friendly and brought me into the back and we looked through the stock and didn't see any gaskets or grommets or o rings that even resembled what i need.

If nothing else, pull the o-ring off and head to lowes or HD and see if they have anything like that in their hardware section.

Dan
