Need opinions on how to fix 8.8 Rear End (few options)

Point taken, when I performed my rebuild I removed the pinion gear and installed new bearings as well as a new crush sleeve which is why i mentioned that he would need an in/lb torque wrench, but you must have not seen that. An in/lb torque wrench is the only way to "set-up" a pinion once it has been removed, but if you had performed this before you would have known. Also, anyone who has any previous experience with a rear end would have already told OP that a 4.56 is unnecessary for 33s as his main concern was if the 4.10 would be sufficient and ideal for the application. The gear swap is actually not that difficult, as I have done one on a jeep with a friend of mine. The point being you will spend more time farting around with the gear swap and money than what it is worth.

Reading manuals, threads and articles doesn't mean crap when it all comes down to it. The people who have actually walked the walked and not just talked the talk are the people you want advice from, not just spec and theory gurus

Open the cover first and find out if the differential itself is damaged. It may be cheaper to buy a whole rear end depending on how much is wrong. If it's just the clutches(which rarely do that unless the grease is wrong), then doing the gears etc in that is better. Regards,

Actually, I have never met anyone that would only replace the pinion bearing and call that a rebuild. Especially on a Limited slip. You will be back in that differential in no time, but just keep walking that walk right back to doing the job twice instead of doing it right the first time. Good luck to you sir. :salute:
My post was directed squarely at you and was not addressing the original poster, which is why I made no comment towards his decision to go with the gear ratio of his choice. That was last week, according to the dates on the postings.
