I just replaced a fuel pump and am now working on bringing my explorer back to peak operating form. New plugs, wires, EGR, and now I want to finally get teh check engine light off. WHat is the part that connects to the EGR Valve and is about 8 inches towards the driver from the EGR right off of the valve cover? (I have a photo, just dont know how to post or dont have access.) It has a vaccum connection to the EGR and it runs like crap when connected, but if I pull the line off of the EGR the engine runs much better. I am thinking it is the EGR pressure sensor, but I am not sure if there is a sticky for testing, repalcement, or any recommnedations on part number.

This forum has been great and I am already doing research on here for the OD Trans fix when that goes!

It's the EGR Vacuum Regulator.

Before you replace it, why don't you see what codes you have?

forgot to give all the details

It was throwing the code for the EGR valve so I replaced it. Based on testing I am leaning towards the EGR Controller. It is not the IAC.

there are a handful of egr codes. do you remember the number? also, this may sound dumb, but did you re-set the computer after the repairs? as for the part ID, youre right on.
