welcome to the site

the first thing i can think of that comes to mind is the maf sensor or the idle air control valve.... also maybe the throttle position sensor...

Thanks jim,i thought maybe that at first but i jack it up and run it through the gears its fine when i step on the brakes it dies, thats why i was thinking tranny cause it does it when there is a load on it so im really lost on this, thanks

Torque converter problem I would bet. Mabey a soleniod or sensor? Opera House should get in on this one... he is the A4LD master

Sounds like the torque converter lockup clutch is stuck on. Usually this sort of thing is a valve body problem. The TCC control valve is dirty/sticky, and the clutch gets stuck on.

Thanks for the info, where is th tcc control valve,is it in the tranny where i can drop the pan and check it out...thanks

Location

With the pan off look on the drivers side of the valve body. There will be wires coming down and connecting to two selinoids it will be the one closest to the engine or towards the front of the truck. To remove and check it you will have to drop the vavle body. There is a small screen type tubular filter under the the seperator plate, check to make sure it is clear while you are there. Good luck. When you pull the selinoid out, the spring at the very bottom, under the spool valves in the valve body, is the one to watch. If it looks smashed or out of shape. Replace it. Make sure all of the spools can move freely when reinstalling. And dont over torque the valve body bolts. 7-10 lbs is plenty. Opera House if I left anything out feel free to jump in. You have more patiance than I do:) . OOps dont forget to check the selinoid itself. You can check for a shorted input by unplugging the the selinoids at the transmission above the shifting linkage and try putting it in gear and see if it is still locked up. If it is still locked you will have to go inside.
