92 Explorer XLT
So I just bought a 92 XLT 2WD with 178,000 miles. I think I got it for a good price, I only paid $600, so I was expecting some problems. Just to give you a quick list of what I've seen so far

1. Need a new radiator ( leaking from the drain plug but don't have the money for a new one right now )
2. All 4 windows don't work
3. Has an oil leak I can't find ( but I just started looking tonight )
4. AC blows hot air

All said and done I think I got a good deal. Just wondering if y'all know of anything else I should start looking at before it smacks me in the head.

I would check the ball joints and tie rods. Also check to make sure you 4wd is working. The shift motors for these tend to be a problem. Lastly you might want to do a complete tune up. I always do this with any vehicle i buy. Good luck with the new explorer.

I was planning on the tune up, figured that would help with the horrible gas mileage I'm getting right now. But I need to figure a way to plug my leak in the radiator until I can find a pick and pull close to my house.

Geez, I wish my AC would blow hot air this time of year!

For the radiator, if you can identify exactly where the leak is, try sealing it with JB Weld.

If the drain plug is in tight you could use Bars Leak to stop it. You should start looking around for a pull n save type junk yard where you can go pull your own parts. Often you can save a lot of money like that.

Since your window problem is all 4 of them I'd bet it's a fuse or a wiring problem somewhere..

I found a pic & pull about 30min form the house where a got a radiator for $50. I found the leak and the chump that had it before already tried JB Weld but I guess he didn't do it right.
Does anyone have a diagram of the fuse panel showing which fuse goes to what or a wiring schematic?

I took a look at the sticky under Stock 91-95 but the links to the wiring diagrams didn't work for me. Are there links under another forum?
