ok heres the deal, i have an 89 ranger 2.9 2wd. trans is broke, found another a4ld tonight for cheap. but, heres the kicker- its from an 87 4wd bronco 2. what is the difference between 2 and 4x? i pulled the pan on the 87 trans and it has the single sol. vb. can i swap it for the daul sol. vb off my 89? also, is the output shaft length the same? i will need to swap tailshaft housings. what is the difference internally? i noticed on transtars website that there are different rebuild kits for 2x and 4x, are the gear ratios the same inside? please help me out here, i gotta call the guy back in a few hours. thanks in advance
