Hi everyone im new here and i appreciate all the help you guys can give me. This is a great place. Wish I had found it sooner. Anyways I want a billet grille for my 97 explorer sport. However, as Im only 18 and would like to resell the car eventually, i dont want to do any cutting. Do you guys have any suggestions, or places to find a good billet grille without cutting for a 97 X sport. Seems like ive been searhing the internet for some time now to no avail.

I think the eBay ones are zip tied in. Which sounds low-budget.. but I think they look pretty good.

i have the ebay one and it's great. it wasn't expensive either. no cutting and easy to install. 1 person, 1 hour. don't be fooled by the zip-ties.they work fine although the ones they give you aren't the biggest so you might have to pick a pack up at wal-mart or somewhere. real cheap.

yup i got an e-bay one too

i think there is only i guy or co. that sells those ones. not sure his name. they always have a pic of the grille on a eb white X with the 99-10 bumper style.

I've been wanting to get one of those grills but I do have one small question. How do you get to the hood latch with them on?

at midwest-xplorers.com in the how-to forum there is a right up on avoiding the hood latch problem.

also, another way around the resale problem is to buy a whole new grille shell with the billet insert already installed. that way you can just swap it out and keep the old one. i can sell you an insert that way, but it will cost a lot more than the ebay grille. you will have to want show quality fit and finish above all else for it to be worth it.

i use a shark keychain that i got from american eagle:D it works perfect. just something thin that will slide through the grill and reach the latch will work fine. just tell your mechanic when you do this or you'll drive them nuts.
