need some help

hey all...well i just got my first explorer, 00 limited with the 5.0 V8...even stock its a great truck. i want a 2" lift, so im thinkin about the tt/aal or shackles...what is better, the add a leaf or shackles? what if i get both? ive found threads of people who have these, but none that really explain why to choose one over the other (or both). i also want some 32x11.5x16 tires...any ideas on what kind? and how hard is the fender trimming going to be? thanks for all of the input, hopefully ill be able to get my bearings straight soon...

I would do the shackles over the aal. The aals will give you a little stiffer ride. You may have to do both if you want to clear 32s (which I did). But you won't have to make any sacrifices with the shackles.

Trimming plastic is usually pretty easy. I had to trim some metal on mine when I did 32s with tt/shacks/aal.. but that was mainly because of a bent frame/crooked body situation I had.

I usually advise to go with the AALs first if there is any chance you will be doing some towing in the future. The AAL will firm up your ride a little, but this is a bonus with towing.

On their own, WAR153s and single AALs are only good for about 1 1/4-1 1/2" of lift. This is why you see a lot of references to people using both. IMO, it depends on how much lift you get, comfortably, out of the TT.

any recommendations on exhaust?
