Need sub and amp help

My girl has a 97 limited and the sub just went out. Needless to say it sound worse. Im planning on getting the mtx thunderform and using the stock HU.After searching, I found that Ill need an amp with a high level input or buy a line out converter. These are my questions:

-Can I remove the stock amp to put a new one there?
-Will I be able to adjust the bass level on th esub?
-Could I adjust the bass level if the amp has a remote?
-CouldI also put in a amp for the highs?

#1 yes but then you would need a aftermarket head unit. as the signal goes though the amp to the speakers.
#2 of course just turn up the gain or bass on amp then use radio bass and treble buttons

#4 yes but then you will need new speakers, and head unit because of the ohm's of the two are different. any more questions let me know.
