I work for a manufacturing company and I was talking to one of the engineers about mabye going into suspension manufacturing. We do heavy duty suspension so It wouldnt be to hard to do. What I want to know is: what would you like to see in a suspension? Mabye a rear coil spring conversion? Mabye a Solid Axle Swap kit? Let me know. They are thinking about it but I need to get them some ideas. They wont do it if it wont turn a profit. Let me know what you think.

Maybe an affordable ($1000 and below) suspension lift for 2nd gens?

What does a normal sec gen lift go for? I would also have to research the front end on a sec gen so do you know where i can specs for them.

One thing I have never been able to find is aftermarket torsion bars. A slightly stiffer spring rate would be nice.

Superlift make a suspension lift for 2nd gens. I think they are around $1000 if not more. If you make a lift kit much cheaper, then I think you will sell heaps.

Another kit that you would sell by the bucket load would be a body lift kit specifically designed for 95-01 Explorers.

Superlift's is closer to $2000.

You can already get stiffer torsion bars from Ford.

How about a front lift that somehow doesnt drop the rear of the torsion bars down! I saw a while ago on here something called 'reallift' torsion bar thingys that did this, but I dont think they ever made explorer ones. The biggest drawback to the IFS lifts is that you dont gain any clearance from the lifts because your torsion bars have to drop back down to stock height!

I think a good SAS kit would be good. It would be good to offer like leaf spring and coilover setups. like you could make everything like the brackets and buckets and stuff. So all the customer has to buy is the springs, axel, steering box(95+) and driveshaft.

sas

i would love to find a gooooood full sas kit for 1st gen explo that is cost effective. ive been looking around and i saw many are finding old fords or broncos and using parts from them. a kit would be great. but of course i havent been looking very long, just the past couple of days but it still would be nice to get an exact amount for a kit
