So I've noticed I've got quite the sag in the rear and also leaning more on the drivers side as well as some noise in the front end from the shocks. I figure at 10 years old and 125000 miles its time to replace the suspension. What I need to know mainly for the rear is what needs to be replaced and how hard is it. I was going over the diagrams from LMC Truck Parts and there's a lot of little things that i don't know if i'm going to need to replace them.

Has anyone done a write up on this? I'm not looking for lift or anything but if someone could shoot me some tips on where to get parts, how to go about it, and any hardships i might run into it'd be appreciated.

This is the link for LMC Truck that has a complete listing on the rear end suspension:

in the rear its just springs and bushings, unless you have rusted out parts

you might also want new U-bolts and washers

That's what i figured. How hard is it to replace the springs. Looking at the shackles i know those need to be done as well.

Has anyone had issues with the rear end not lining up correctly? I've never done leaf springs before so i'm kind of curious as to how hard it could be.

there's a pin in the mount to line up the spring

it's super easy, unbolt one side, replace the spring, then do the other side

you're probably going to need a good penetrating lube, a wire brush, and an air impact wrench hooked to a good compressor

and a torque wrench and maybe some loctite for putting it back together
