'03 Explorer Eddie Bauer
If this was already posted I apologize in advance, but I just got my hands on an 03 Explorer - Eddie Bauer and can't seem to find out where the factory code is for the keypad.

Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance.

Your keyless link in your signature give me a 404 fille not found error.

Looks like mikecameras took his very good tutorial down for finding the keyless entry code on Gen 3 Explorers. :(
The code is a 5 digit number printed on the Security Module. The dealer can scan the module and retrieve the code and will charge you about $75, or you can look yourself for free. :) The SM is mounted behind the trim piece on the pasenger side 'C' pillar. You have to loosen the trim piece and pull it out at the top. Then you can look down there at the SM and read the number. It will help to use an inspection mirror and flashlight.

hmmm, guess I'll have to take that link down. Worked a few weeks ago. That was the best set of instructions too, had pictures and everything. Maybe I'll snap some pics and get a page up so everyone can see in the future.

Its very easy, I did it in about 5 minutes and the only tool I needed was a small mirror.

open the rear passenger door
the piller between the door and the rear window behind the seatbelt is where the keyless box is.

pop out the weather stripping on the back edge of the door.
pop off the trip panel with the seatbelt in it.
pry off the top of the bottom panel and if you look down in there you will see a black box. The label with the key pad number is on the drivers side of the box.

Hold the mirror down over the drivers side of the box and read the 5 digit number in black text. The label is white.

try the number and it should work.

Pop all the panels back on, make sure to line up the seat belt adjuster on the upper pannel before you snap it back on

any questions just let me know
