NEED TO BUY 4DOOR SPRINGS

Hows everyone doin? I love this site, it helped me do a lot with my X. My latest mod was a 2"TT/Shackle lift... It looks good but i still have some sag in the rear. After searching countless threads I found my best option was to replace my current monoleaf (i have a sport so i cant add a leaf) with the spring pack of a 4 door. So anyone selling this--- im willing to buy. Or if anyone knows where to go to get them...

If i go to FORD and order a set...how much are they?

Also- any information on how hard they are to install would help..

Do i need ONLY the springs or the shackles and other pieces as well?

And last but not least... do i have to put stock shackles back on or can i keep my warrior shackles???

***I have a 98 X Sport..... will only certain year explorer leaf packs fit???

I switched my mono-leaf spring to four door leafs last summer. It isn't a really hard to do yourself, but having an extra set of hands came in handy for me. Just because u have to hold the plate the shock attatches to while compressing the shock, and put the U-bolts in and get them started. That was the hardest part. There is a good thread on how to do this somewhere, try a search for it. I'm sure u could still use your shackle's w/ the new springs, because the springs will only raise the back end up to where it's supposed to be, so you'll still need the shackles for the lift. And I only had to buy the springs, everything else was good. If your shocks are going bad this would be a good time to replace them.

I got my springs from a local junk yard, they were from a 96Ex w/ 40,000 miles on them. They were around $150 for me, and after searching around on the board I found that people have bought them cheaper.

i replied in another thread this too.. but here goes..

you can use ANY 4drs leaf packs. the newer the better though. also.. i THINK the 01 and up sports went back to the leaf pack so you may look for those too.
don't go to FORD. they cost too much
get from a local junkyard. i got a pair a year ago or so from a yard here for $75 for the pair. they were off a 99 xlt with less than 20k.
you can still use the shackles. you will likely get a little lift from the 4dr leaf pack alone.. like an inch maybe. use the shackles too.
this is easy to do. a write-up was done if your unsure. look for it in the "useful links" thread.

JC whitney sells them I belive for $90 bucks for a pair. Check there website and see if this would work for you.
