can someone point me in the right direction to find and intake for my model, ive searched almost everywhere. and couldnt find anything on the forum. thx
MAC is the only way to go for an emissions-legal intake for the 5.0L. I have one on my Mounty and I love it. Great sound, much improved throttle response. The only downside is that the intake air temperature is much higher once the engine is warm. I've recorded temps as high as 205F with my scanner.
I consider it the best of bang for your buck. Superior filtration over K&N, same performance as K&N, and only about 30 bucks. You wont be cleaning your MAF sensors quite as often with this setup.
MAC seems to be the best kit for the V8 as is. Consider an ASMI intake. They sell on eBay. Cheaper than MAC but less refined. I scored one just for the intake tube which I rigged into the Volant leftovers from my old SOHC Sport. I have a truly custom intake for my Eddie, but not the cheapest way to go!
another MAC user here. we have a MAC on my dads 5.0..let me tell you...big differance in throttle responce, little more noise(its a good thing) and it seems to down shift faster now and just feels quicker(not a huge thing..but still)
