Ok, here's the deal. I had to replace the heater control valve because it was leaking. I think I might have connected the hoses up wrong. It's a 95 X with the control valve that has 2 inlets and 2 outlets.

If someone could tell me: On the fire wall, does the left hose go to the top or bottom of the valve and does the hose leading to the pump go to the top or bottom of the other side?

After finishing, I drove about 15 min to work and the temp guage barely moved.

I'm not sure if the 94 is the same, but did you get a replacement heater control valve from Ford or Auto parts store. Is the part that the small vacuum control hose connects to metal or plastic?

I had the same problem, but don't want to go into the whole issue unless the replacement heater control valve is the same as the one that I got.

I got it from Pepboys. The part that the vacuum line connects to is plastic.

Same case as mine. The original part was a brass colored metal and was on the front left side(Facing the vehicle from the front) of the vehicle. Omy replacement, it is plastic and the whole control valve has to be positioned so that the plastic vacuum connection is on the rear right, slammed against the heater core. It made it VERY difficult to connect the vacuum hose because it is so close to the heater core.

Also, with new one, the small metal arm that opens and shuts the valve has a tendency of sticking, so I placed some grease on it where it slips down into the plastic tab to help with the sticking. But it still sticks sometimes. Hope this helps.
